Take A Virtual Tour of Salt Lake Academy Of Dental Assisting

Welcome to Salt Lake Academy of Dental Assisting!
We are located in the Dental Office of Dr. Richard Martinez
3001 S. 1300 East
SLC, UT 84106

We have 7 operatories that our students can utilize. This

ensures that each student has his or her own operatory to

maximize their hands-on training

Our dental operatories are fully equipped with computers and

massaging chairs!

Students are welcome to enjoy our staff lounge to relax,

study or grab a snack.

Our school is equipped with state of the art Digital

Radiography. Digital radiography means, instantaneous

images, significantly less radiation for patients, and no dark

room chemicals for our students

Our office is clean! We pride ourselves on meticulous

sterilization and infection control. We also have a lab where

students can pour up models and make their bleaching

trays.

We are now enrolling for our Spring Semester!

Visit our website or call (801) 930-0115 to see how you can

 apply!

Congratulations on Radiology Certification and CPR/AED Certification!

It's been a busy week but all of our students passed their Radiology Final and are now officially Certified to take dental x-rays in the State of Utah!

We also had a fun night with CPR/AED Certification!  Thanks also to Dr. Martinez for providing us with Jamba juice, we needed the energy for those chest compressions!

Why Do We Use Mannequins For Dental Radiology?

First week of Dental Radiology and our students are doing well!

Salt Lake Academy of Dental Assisting invests in several dental X-ray mannequins (Dexter) which have radiographic teeth. This enables students to get the very best training and as much practice as possible. It is prohibited by law to practice radiography on each other. By using Dexter, students can evaluate their X-rays and adjust their technique until they get a perfect diagnostic X-ray, without exposing each other to un-necessary radiation.

The next 3 weeks will be spent in Radiology lab and after a final exam, our students will be Certified in Dental Radiology for the State of Utah.

First of many coronal polishing labs.  Our students started out on Dexter, then practiced on each other.  They did a great job for their first time!
