Why Are Exit Interviews Important?

Our favorite part about Graduation is celebrating in our students accomplishments and seeing how their confidence and progress have grown over the past 10 weeks!

Our second favorite part is reading their Exit Interviews.  We gain much knowledge from our students and take each and every comment to heart.
We appreciate our students so much!

"I absolutely loved this class!  I learned so much and met a lot of really cool, life-long friends.  Terina, Jeri, Jordan and Dr. Martinez helped me so much.  I came into this class knowing absolutely nothing about dentistry and I'm leaving knowing more than I could ever imagine! I am so thankful that I chose this school to come to.  I never felt afraid to ask questions and my instructors were always eager to help us understand.  I am so glad I chose this school!
-Triniti

"Not only did I love the class, but they gave me everything I needed to feel confident in the Dental Assisting job market.  I even had a job before I graduated!  I will miss this class and everyone in it!"  -Katie

"This class is really what you need to jump start a career in Dental Assisting.  Jeri is a very good teacher and is always drawing amazing pictures to help us understand complex or in-depth dental concepts.  Terina always brings the fun and energy to every class and is always giving us suggestions and tips that you will not find in any textbook.  I'm going to miss this class and the energy and fun we had!" -Samantha

"I love this class!  Before I started, I was very nervous, but after the first day, all of those feelings went away.  Terina, Jeri and Jordan really helped a lot and were very patient with us throughout all the lab sessions.  I am so happy I took this class and loved every minute of it!  I am very excited to start a career doing what I love!  Thanks for everything Terina, Jeri and Jordan!"  -Tasia

"SLADA is a fast paced course and very fun.  All of the instructors are helpful and explain every concept until you understand it.  My classmates who came to class with me are awesome and everyone was so helpful.  It's the most fun that I've had in school!"
-Penelope

"The Salt Lake Academy of Dental Assisting program has been life changing and it opened up doors to a new career that I couldn't be more excited to start.  I was offered a job and started working as a Dental Assistant before I graduated.  It's definitely worth it and Jeri and Terina are great!"  -Stephanie

"The Salt Lake Academy of Dental Assisting was one of the best experiences I've had.  Terina, Jeri, Jordan and Dr. Martinez are wonderful people and so great to be around.  Also, all of the girls I met while taking this course are amazing. I had an amazing learning experience and I wouldn't have traded it for anything!"  -Amina

"I am beyond thankful for these people!  They have made me come out of my shell!  I love how fun and excellent the instructors are. I loved all the hands-on work which made learning this profession so much easier and a lot more fun.  The relationships I have made with these girls are like none other.  I love, love, love more than anything, the "Relief Society" group with Jordan and Triniti.  This is my favorite class I've ever taken!  Thank you so much for all you have done!"  -Krystyee

"This course was a lot more fun than I ever imagined!  The instructors and Dr. Martinez are wonderful and so helpful during the course.  I absolutely loved this program and I have recommended it to my friends and family who are interested in Dental Assisting. I learned so much in such a short amount of time.  Thank you guys for offering such an amazing program!"  -Camryn

"This course is very entertaining and educational!  I was excited to participate in class every night.  The best part, it's helped me with my own oral hygiene at home!"  -Karli

We Appreciate Feedback From Our Students! This is what some of our Summer 2014 Class had to say about us!

I have really enjoyed taking the dental assisting course through Salt Lake Academy of Dental Assisting!  The course went by very fast and I learned so many skills that I was able to apply immediately.  Both Jeri and Terina are very knowledgable about the dental field and are excellent demonstrating all of the skills in the lab.  I believe this course has given me a better understanding of what is expected of a dental assistant.  This has well prepared me for a career as a dentist.  -Kierstin

I enjoyed the class and loved how patient and helpful Terina and Jeri were.  I loved my classmates and made so many new friends.  This class went by so quickly and the night schedule was perfect.  It was such a great experience!   -Marissa

I really enjoyed the dental assisting course.  As a pre-dental student at the U of U, I was unsure if the dental road was one I wanted to be on.  However, after just a few classes with the lovely instructors, I realized how much I love the dental field!  Both Terina and Jeri are very understanding of each student's needs and they do everything they can to help each student succeed.  They instill in each student a monumental passion for patient care and the practice of dentistry.  -Patrick

Going into this program, I knew a little bit about what dental assisting was about.  After a few classes, I saw just how much there was to learn about this profession.  I mainly took this course as an exploration to see if dentistry was a career path that I wanted to take. I've had thoughts about dentistry for many years, and after this class I can say that my interest has been elevated!  I feel that in these short 10 weeks, I have learned enough to comfortably seek employment as an entry level dental assistant.  Knowing what I know now and the experience I gained from this course, I have the confidence to further my education in dentistry. This was a great experience to be a part of and I'm glad I made the decision to enroll!   -Branden

Thank you for helping me to gain confidence in myself!  Before this program, I wasn't sure if dental assisting was what I wanted, but now, I know that dental assisting is where I want to be!  Thank you to the instructors and my classmates.  I had so much fun and made many new friends!   -Nika

Testimonials from our Spring 2014 Students

We love getting feedback from our students, this ensures that we stay on top of our teaching techniques to help our students achieve their goals!

Here are a few testimonials from our Spring Session 2014

I really enjoyed being a student at The Salt Lake Academy of Dental Assisting.  I made the decision to come based on their fair tuition pricing and the expedited course time of 10 weeks!  Terina and Jeri supply the students with interesting academic and clinical information at each class.  The most helpful way to learn is to apply the "book work" knowledge to the dental lab immediately after learning about them in lectures.  I am also a college student, and this Dental Assisting course is the first one I have taken where, upon completion, I have a marketable and professional skill set that I can put to use right away! Thank you Jeri, Terina and Dr. Martinez!  -Kerri

I loved everything about this program, it has been an amazing 10 weeks learning new things and working in the lab.  I'd like to thank Terina and Jeri for working so hard to make everything perfect for us and always giving us 100% of their time and attention. I'd also like to give a shout-out to Dr. Martinez for always giving us pointers and advice to guide us in the future. I know my dental journey won't stop here.  This program has made me so much more excited to become a Dentist.  Thank you for helping me start my journey!  I promise to always make you proud!  Like Dr. Martinez always says, "Hasta-Lasagne"  -Soulmaz

I joined this program to get a first-hand knowledge of Dentistry and Dental Assisting in the United States and I can safely say I was not disappointed. The practical knowledge and techniques that I have learned here came in handy when I went into clinics as an extern, which I believe otherwise would have not been possible. The instructors Terina and Jeri are awesome. They teach you everything you need to know about Dental Assisting, from dental techniques to code and conduct in the dental office and the ways to deal with tricky situations. Dr. Martinez was kind enough to let me come to his clinic and observe him doing dental procedures and to complete my internship with him. He helped me understand various aspect of dentistry, treatment planning and procedures. He managed to answer all my queries taking time from his busy schedule. This experience is definitely going to be an asset to my pre-dental experience and will help me afterwards too. Besides the Dental Assisting Certificate, I also received CPR and Dental Radiology. Other schools take more than 10 months to teach you the things this school taught me in 10 weeks.
I would definitely recommend this program to anyone who is looking for quality education and a career in Dental Assisting.   -Ritika

The teachers are fantastic! I've learned so much throughout this program!  It was super fast and I wish it was longer because SLADA is such a great environment to be in.  The other students were wonderful too and I believe this is the best program to attend and I wouldn't have gone to any other place!  Coming here makes learning interesting and exciting and I loved all the hands-on training that we received in the lab.  This is hands down, the very best program anyone can attend!  -Edith

Terina and Jeri are great instructors!  They are amazing, funny and super duper sweet!  I learned so many things and enjoyed all of the classes. I will miss this program very much!
-Luisa

This program is very "hands-on" because of the smaller class size.  The instructors are phenomenal and they are awesome teachers and friends!  I looked forward to coming to class every week. They really want to help you and make the learning fun!  It's sad to think that my time here is over, if I had the chance to go back and do it over again, I totally would!  A great program!  -Samantha

What are our Graduates saying about our program!

"Salt Lake Academy of Dental Assisting has been amazing!  I feel that I have learned so much.  Every class you get to do hands-on training in the lab and you're not just doing lectures all class.  They really support all types of learners.  I have had a dentist compliment me and tell me that I know much more than people who have spent more money and gone through a 10 month program.

The instructors are fantastic!  They are so helpful and are always willing to answer questions that we may have.  Dr. Martinez is fabulous and he is always so happy to teach us or answer our questions.  Everyone is so great and nice, everyone feels welcome here!

I truly feel that this is the best Dental Assisting program out there.  So good that I got hired on my second day of my externship!"

Congratulations 2014 Winter Semester Graduates!

We had a great group of students for our Winter 2014 Semester and they all received their Certificates of Completion!

Many graduated with additional honors for Perfect Attendance and Outstanding Excellence and Achievement.  One student had the highest overall percentage in the history of SLADA, graduating with a 99% overall score.  This is quite an achievement as this score averages, Lecture Tests, Lab Tests, Practical Tests, Externship Evals and of course Finals.

Also, we were so fortunate to have a student who is a Dentist in Mongolia take our class.  She recently moved to the United States and wants to continue a career in the dental field.  She has a wealth of knowledge and was a great asset to our program!

Congratulations to our Graduates!  Please keep in touch and know that we are always here for you!  We are so proud of your hard work and dedication!

YOU asked, we answered!

Dear Future Dental Assistant,

Thank you for requesting more information about our school, and for those students who have already signed up, Congratulations!  We are excited to be working with you toward your new professional dental career!

Our next class will start on Tuesday January 14th, 2014.  There are two weeks left to enroll!

We've had many people ask what makes our school different than the others?  We are happy to answer that question!

First and foremost, you will work closely with Dr. Richard D. Martinez.  In many other programs, you may never see the dentist on site!  Dr. Martinez makes himself available to help our students in any way that he can!

It's important to know that Dr. Martinez loves Dentistry! He enjoys teaching and helping others as well.  Over 20 years of being a Dentist, he has encountered people who want to join him in the dental field. Not only does he maintain a successful private practice, he teaches the dental residents at the University of Utah Dental Clinic and will also be teaching at the new University of Utah School of Dentistry.  He is a great mentor to have!

"Dentistry is such a wonderful profession and I'm glad to pass along knowledge
and the passion of caring for others."

Secondly, to become a Dental Assistant, you have to get the right training.  That's exactly what we can provide you.  Our classes are held in a working dental office, with caring instructors who work in the dental field everyday.  You will be learning from a Dental Assistant and a Registered Dental Hygienist, with 30 years and 23 years of continuous experience in the dental profession.  This ensures that we teach you the most current technology and techniques that many cutting edge dentists are using!  We have also found that some of our students want to pursue a Dental Hygiene career in the future. Our instructors are happy to help you in the application process and with letters of recommendation.

We are thrilled that we are able to send our students to the University of Utah Dental Clinic. Observing in a hospital setting, allows you to see the different working styles of many different dentists all at once.

We also have a network of Dental Specialists who are very willing to let our students observe in their offices. Cross training makes our students more valuable in the Dental Assisting job market!

Our program is a 10 week course and a fraction of the cost from the nine and 12 month programs.
We have many financing plans available.

By now you are aware that an iPad Mini or for a limited time, a Microsoft Surface, comes with your paid tuition.  We've had students who already own a tablet and didn't need another one, or wonder if they HAVE to take the iPad/Surface.  The answer is no, you do not HAVE to take it!  If you choose not to take it, we will reduce your tuition by $300! (For students paying tuition in full before the first day of class)

Our students and graduates can accompany us to the Annual Utah Dental Association Convention.  It's a a great way to get continuing education and network with other Dental Assistants and Dentists!  It's FUN and exciting to learn more about dentistry and to walk around the exhibits to get free dental goodies!  More toothbrushes, toothpaste and floss than you can imagine!

Finally, YES, our graduates are employed as Dental Assistants!  We have dental offices calling us every week asking for our students!  Our graduates have found rewarding, fulfilling and great paying jobs working with many great Dentists in the Salt Lake area!

If YOU have any other questions, let us know! Come take a tour and let us help you achieve your goal to become a Dental Assistant!

Happy New Year from Salt Lake Academy of Dental Assisting!
